This will be a very short and sweet blog post as I am running a little fever today. I guess all those sleepless nights have caught up with my poor human body and realized that I am not a robot, that I get drained too. I actually should be resting right now. I really did go to bed 4 hours ago after sending an email to my client saying I’m sick because I was already shivering. I was so looking forward to slumber and waking up feeling all better and refreshed because I got a ton of work to do but our 3-year-old kept rolling all over me urging me to play with him. I, of course, reprimanded him, several times, to no avail. I didn’t want to be stressed further and I didn’t want my toddler to get sick too so I got up, sat here in my little office where he usually leaves me in peace when he knows I’m on work mode. I turned my Kenko back massager on and was planning to sleep upright but then I couldn’t sleep. You know that feeling when you’re so very tired, your bones feel like they’re shaking from overfatigue but you could not sleep? It’s such a bummer! So I thought I might as well do something a little productive. I did promise myself that day I ranted about being a sleep-deprived mom that I’ll blog every day no matter how short. This is after all my online diary and more than a blogger, I am a diarist.

How to Grow Water Spinach (Kangkong) and Chinese Kale (Kailan) the Easy Way

Growing Water Spinach (Kangkong) and Chinese Kale (Kailan)  from seeds use pretty much the same method as growing tomatoes. I actually planted my kangkong and kailan the same time I planted my okra seeds, eggplants seeds, pepper seeds and tomato seeds.

By the way, I’m actually on the 26th day of my very own self-imposed 30-day blog post challenge which also propelled me to restart doing other things I love and one of them is planting vegetables (obviously!)

First of all, let me tell you that unlike how I grew tomato, eggplant,  okra, and pepper seeds, I didn’t study at all how to plant water spinach (kangkong) and Chinese kale (kailan) seeds. I bought several different seeds and one day I just thought to plant two more kinds and see if they will grow.  After almost a month, I can say that my water spinanch and Chinese kale vegetable seeds have grown so much since then. I’ve even re-potted them which I will discuss on a separate post. For now, let me tell you how I managed to grow Kangkong and Kailan vegetables from seeds.

Growing peppers (sili) from seeds use pretty much the same method as growing tomatoes. I actually planted my hot pepper seeds the same time I planted my okra seeds, eggplants seeds, and tomato seeds.

How to Grow Eggplants the Easy Way? Okay, before that, I’m now on the 19th day of my very own self-imposed 30-day blog post challenge which also propelled me to restart doing other things I love and one of them is planting my own vegetables. This hobby actually started during my elementary years in St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina when our Science teacher assigned us to plant monggo seeds at home. I did as instructed and I was really amazed to see them grow!

Now, one of my favorite vegetables aside from tomato and okra is eggplant. Growing eggplants use pretty much the same procedure as growing tomatoes. I actually planted my eggplant seeds the same time I planted my okra seeds and tomato seeds. As my tomato and okra seeds were starting to grow only after a week, there was still no visible sign of eggplant sprouts so I just let it grow in its own pace.

Okay, before that, I’m now on the 18th day of my very own self-imposed 30-day blog post challenge which also propelled me to restart doing other things I love and one of them is planting my own vegetables. I used to be a lazy indoor vegetable farmer before we set up our own farm. Now, I plant almost all the time whether I’m in our tiny pad near the city or up the mountains at the farm (I’ll be sharing more of these in the coming days and weeks so stay tuned.) On this blog post, I’ll share with you the most important things you need to learn when planting okra from seeds. No need to a buy book or read a ton of materials from the internet. However, you still have the option to watch videos and articles on the internet if you really want to. How to Grow Tomatoes the Easy Way? Okay, before that, I’m now on the 17th day of my very own self-imposed 30-day blog post challenge which also propelled me to restart doing other things I love and one of them is planting my own vegetables. The other day, I shared with you how to make an affordable mini vegetable garden right in the comforts of your own home. This originally stemmed from my desire to become more self-sufficient by being able to harvest and eat food that I grew myself. And consequently, because we now have a farm where I can have all the space I need for all the vegetables I want to grow and hopefully sell to the local market. But before that happens, I have to learn how to grow tomatoes first, even if it’s just in my own home.

I’m now on the 11th day of my very own self-imposed 30-day blog post challenge which also propelled me to restart doing other things I love and one of them is planting my own vegetables. This hobby actually started during my elementary years in St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina when our Science teacher assigned us to plant monggo seeds at home. I did as instructed and I was really amazed to see them grow!

We didn’t have a wide space at my parents’ house to plant some more, plus I already became busy with my academic life and other hobbies (like craft-making, painting, and sewing) plus I was trying hard to maintain my honor student status so suffice it to say that planting took a backseat. The desire got repressed and it would just surface every time we’d vacation at my grandfather’s farm in Bukidnon. But even then, I was already busy exploring other things that planting just became a desire that never got fulfilled until in my 30’s when I started a mini vegetable garden at my balcony in my own house.

So I thought that before I continue to tell you what’s been happening in our farm, I should go back to my roots first. After all, not everyone has a huge land to farm and most people I know would like to start vegetable gardening in their own backyard like how I started years ago. With that said, I’m going to post here my old indoor vegetable farming posts. The content is evergreen so it doesn’t matter when you read it. The tips you will learn will always be useful in case you want to start your own vegetable garden too.
