Mahal and I have been talking about getting CCTV cameras for the farm and our future Tuscany Highlands city office when CDO Bloggers got invited to a Seagate and Dahua event. I, of course, said yes, I will go! This happened last Sept. 20, 2019. I did mention on my previous post that those last two weeks of September would be very busy for me and in fact, my hectic life never stopped since! I’ve actually been so sleep-deprived the past month but nevertheless very productive and blessed, that I feel compelled to share this event with you (instead of getting my much-needed rest), as it also commenced a series of other exciting, mind-blowing, amazing opportunities for me and Mahal.

So back to Seagate and Dahua event first. (And yes, after this, I shall rest na talaga.)

I really thought it will just be a simple presentation of security apparatuses among a small group of us CDO Bloggers. I didn’t do any research about it prior to the event because of my deadly schedule so I was really impressed with their setup upon entry to the venue at one of the grand ballrooms in Limketkai Luxe Hotel! (We stayed in Limketkai Hotel last Christmas and it was really luxurious — must blog about it before this coming Christmas, lol!)

There was a long line of attendees signing up at the registration booth. We were given a bag containing awesome giveaways including a thick book of their products. I was also given a raffle stub for a raffle draw later that afternoon.

I didn’t go inside yet after I signed up. I looked at their display and here are what I saw together with my other fellow bloggers:

Moments later, I went in to make sure I don’t miss the start of the event. CDO Bloggers had a table just for us and I started setting up my camera and batteries.

The whole Seagate and Dahua presentation really blew my mind! It was a Smart City Surveillance Seminar conducted by Seagate and Dahua as they partnered in making smart and safer cities. How I wish all of you were there to listen to the key speakers. The initial video presentation was so high-tech! Basically, it depicted living in a city that is safe and secure. In the video presentation, they showed a person being robbed at an ATM for example. The person being robbed, pushed a button nonchalantly near the ATM machine and automatically, this alerted the police of the incident. Even after the robber ran away in a getaway car, the integrated circuits of CCTV and security cameras all worked together seamlessly, demonstrating facial detection and recognition, thereby catching the perpetrator in just a matter of minutes! If a whole city uses Seagate and Dahua surveillance products, including SkyHawk AI Storage, we would all be living in much safer cities! So amazing!!! I still can’t forget that presentation even until now.

In effect, when cities are smart, they realLy tend to be safer cities, don’t you agree?

I’m sure urban authorities dream of “Smart Cities” like this… cities that use new technologies and scientific advancements to converge complete algorithms and data to attain expanded efficiency, more sustainability, and real safety.

All in all, I learned so much about what surveillance, storage, and technology companies like Seagate and Dahua can do. It’s like seeing the future happening now and really liking what I’m seeing.
