Seven Seas Vlog

Seven Seas Waterpark – The Biggest in the Philippines – A Vlog!

I first blogged about the Seven Seas Waterpark last May and I said there that I was going to make a vlog about it so that you’ll get a better understanding on how it really feels like to be there inside their water theme park, riding the various heart-stopping rides and just simply enjoying the scenery. The Seven Seas, located in Bara, Opo, Misamis Oriental, may I reiterate, is the biggest in the Philippines and certified world-class. So, if you are visiting Cagayan de Oro soon, you might want to enjoy summer any time of the year by heading to the Seven Seas Waterpark! Again, it’s the biggest in the country and certified world-class! They even offer night swimming now!

For a more detailed post about the Seven Seas Waterpark of Cagayan de Oro, please read my blog post: https://momtraneur.com/2019/05/18/seven-seas-waterpark-of-cagayan-de-oro-a-review/

Seven Seas Waterpark of Cagayan de Oro – a Review

Seven Seas Waterpark has always been one of my top dream destinations ever since our transfer (A.K.A. The Big Leap) here in Cagayan de Oro City in September 2017. Our son was still a baby then and we thought it might not yet be the right time for us to enjoy what this world-class waterpark has to offer.

So we waited another year until Tuz was already a little old enough to be able to enjoy kiddie water slides and shallow swimming pools. Then Mahal and I can just take turns in taking care of Tuz and enjoying those scary water slides and rides I’ve been hearing about. That was the plan. So last year, a day after Tuz turned three, we headed to Seven Seas Waterpark. Yey!!! And just a week ago, I was here again with my fellow CDO Bloggers. Double yey!!!

On this blog post, I’ll be sharing with you my review of Seven Seas Waterpark based on my experiences in this world-class tourist destination. Read on…

Toddler Meltdown

How to Prevent and Cope with Toddler Meltdowns? Here are 10 Ways.

Tuz is almost 3 years old. He is a happy and hyperactive child and is typically in his terrible twos. What I mean by this is that most of the time he is just happy playing by himself, playing with us or playing with other kids at the farm. Even though he gets moody and stubborn from time to time, especially when his sleep is disturbed or when he’s tired and couldn’t seem to go to slumber, he easily gets back to his positive, happy, hyperactive self. He doesn’t hold grudges (I know some toddlers who do hold grudges for a long time) and I’m just glad that with Tuz, after a certain episode of scolding and spanking — yes we spank our kid — it’s like nothing happened and he forgets all about it and gets back to his laughing, playing, hugging and kissing mood.

He also knows how to express his feelings at this age. Like when he just wants to cry, he will tell me “Tuz cry” or “Tuz angry”. After a few minutes, he will simply stop crying and then he will ask me to clean his face by saying “Clean it, clean it. Tissue and alcohol.” This means he wants me to get a WET tissue that smells nice and not a dry tissue but not necessarily put alcohol on it. I do put alcohol at the corner of the tissue if the wet tissue is not the fragrant kind. Then I wipe his eyes and nose with the fragrant wet tissue. He is OC like that (he probably got it from me coz I’m OC too) and we are really lucky to have him.

But on those moments, when he does have a meltdown, it can really be hell at home. He won’t stop crying. Spanking doesn’t help. He shouts. I shout. Mahal remains calm and becomes the referee between me and Tuz. And I just cry in a corner out of frustration and desperation which makes Tuz cry some more too. It’s a scenario I don’t want to relive. I’m sure you mommies out there get the picture.

Below is a video of Tuz I took weeks before when I couldn’t understand what he wanted me to do and ended up crying and crying for what seemed like an eternity…

Motherhood Comes First – A Mom’s Rants About Being a Mother to a Hyper Toddler

This blog post is mostly a one long rant so please bear with me…

I was very much excited to write several blog posts about our long Boracay vacation last March. I still am looking forward to writing down all my stories, travel tips and what-have-you but I just don’t know when I’ll find the time. Life just got busier and busier that I didn’t realize it was already April and we are once again preparing for a one long family travel, this time, a fun road trip with my parents from Luzon all the way to Mindanao.

Anyway, going back to life getting busy and all… Continue reading

How to Travel with a Baby? (A 2016 Travel Recap)

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!

I took an almost month-long break from blogging to enjoy the first month of the new year. I didn’t work as much, I had some legal stuff to take care of and we headed to exciting adventures as a family. Now that the Chinese New Year has just ended, we’re back home concretizing our new plans and new adventures for 2017. It’s gonna be exciting!

New year, new set of goals and travel plans. Yey! Like I said, we just started traveling again, hence, the super busy schedule we now have — juggling parenthood, business plans, work and leisure. But before I share with you about our current adventures, I want to do a recap first of the travels we did last year through this blog post of knowing how to travel peacefully and enjoyably with a baby. Plus, I still want to share with you one by one those places we visited before that I still haven’t published yet (to be done on some future blog posts). But first things, first…

How Can Introverts Have Baby Showers?

BACKGROUND

Around Halloween last year, I was on my last few weeks of pregnancy. Baby Tuz was about to be welcomed to our little family and of course, we couldn’t be any happier and we wanted to celebrate it!

You might not believe it but I I actually googled the phrase “How Can Introverts Have Baby Showers?” Lol! I was to become a first time mom then and I’ve only attended two baby showers in my lifetime (one was for Irene and it was just over lunch among her 4 girlfriends back in early 2000 and the second one was  for Jem 3 years ago organized by her friends). Nuvali Night Sky Cinema

Nuvali Night Sky Cinema 2016 Family Event

I blogged last time that we were attending the Nuvali Night Sky Cinema event. So that’s where we came from last Saturday with my family and as usual we had a blast! We were there early in the afternoon so we did a lot of things first before finally heading to the Open Fields for the 2016 Night Sky Cinema. I’ll blog about that on another post after this — about things people can do in Nuvali.

For now, here’s a photo essay of how our Pre-Halloween Family Get-Together at Nuvali Night Sky Cinema went and a guide as well for those who plan to do this next year in case you missed it last Saturday.  Continue reading

Our Baby’s First Month in Videos

One of the reasons why I set up this blog, from the name itself, MOMtraneur, is because I wanted to document everything there is to document about my being a mom, our being parents to our cute little baby. Because without baby Tuz, we won’t have the pleasure of experiencing this wonderful right, privilege, responsibility and obligation of becoming parents.

So on this post, I want to share with you the videos we took of our precious little boy during his first month on Earth. That was November 17 to December 18, 2015, almost a year ago! How time indeed flew so fast! Baby Tuz still looked so very different here. And how happy and thankful we are that he is growing up healthier and a lot cuter every single day that God gives us to live. Continue reading

Postpartum Depression and Motherhood

OVERVIEW

I first published this post on my previous blog on Dec. 10, 2015, 3 weeks after I gave birth. Now, it’s been almost 9 months since our little angel was born but there are still days when I look at his handsome little face and I’m just filled with disbelief and awe at how I ever became a mother. The road leading here wasn’t easy and how my life changed since then… and just like the theme of this blog post, I am once again having feelings of sadness. Maybe it’s because of the monsoon season our country is experiencing for several days now. We’ve been cooped up inside the house even last weekend because of the bad weather and the out of town anniversary celebration we were planning didn’t push through. Maybe it’s just hormones… post partum depression? Whatever it is, I hope that blogging about it will somehow lessen this melancholy I’m feeling.

First Time Mom’s Daily Routine

OVERVIEW

Honestly, what routine? Hahaha! My body clock has always been in haywire. Anytime that my schedule seems to be a bit more regular, baby Tuz fusses for several days or gets sick; Mahal starts to not feel well then I get sick too and then  and I’m back to square one at getting my daily activities back in order. Although this past weekend until today, my body clock has been on Philippine time (thank God!) I do all my tasks during the day and I retire at night, albeit late, then wake up in the morning again after 8 hours of sleep. The 8 hours however is interrupted by Tuz getting fussy or hungry then we just both go back right to sleep. Hallelujah! Maybe my organic diet is contributing to this normal body clock I’m having right now. I’ll tell you more about that on another post.  Continue reading
